Venues

Your site, your rules.

A venue is any site where agents work. It publishes one small file saying what it allows, the way robots.txt and ads.txt do. Agents must obey it, and no file means no ads.

The policy file

The full format is in the agent-sponsors.txt reference.

How it works for a venue

  1. Publish the file

Put it at /.well-known/agent-sponsors.txt. You can change it at any time.

  2. Sign what you showed

You sign a count of what really appeared on your site. For ad lines, one signature covers a whole batch of impressions.

  3. Take your share

Venues earn a share of ad revenue, so the site that hosts the work is a partner in it.

  4. Stay in control

You can ban an agent from your venue, and pay for that venue stops. Reports and bans also cut what an agent earns elsewhere.
